academic energy science laboratory

My first task after being hired by Behnisch Architekten was, alongside another new hire, to build a 1⁄4” to 1’-0” (~1:50) model of an on-going academic laboratory project. The model initially served as a design tool, especially for the solar-shading ETFE facade, but transformed over its tenure in our office into a fully-detailed presentation model.

The 150,000 square foot (~14,000 sqm) building will include high-performance and research labs, write-up and office space, and event space.
